Griffith gone

I am just now learning of the Sept. 28 death of screenwriter Charles B. Griffith. Many movies scripted by him have been Hallowe'en viewing for me in past years. What credits he had! It Conquered The World, Attack Of The Crab Monsters (a film that should be released in a special package with a tiny comb, or perhaps some drawn butter), The Little Shop of Horrors, The Undead, Creature From The Haunted Sea, Beast From Haunted Cave (a MTDSH favorite), A Bucket Of Blood, Not Of This Earth, and Death Race 2000.

An obituary article and comments can be seen at this page of The Classic Horror Film Board.

I couldn't find a good photograph of Mr. Griffith, but given his delightfully twisted sense of humor as seen in Little Shop of Horrors and Bucket Of Blood, I thought it would be appropriate to run instead a ghoulish gag picture that a friend sent me. I'm sure Mr. Griffith would approve.

Bwah ha ha! Now, would it be over-the-top to have a giant rat lurking in the background, rubbing its paws together? Gilding the lily? Yeah. Thought so.

I like your blog! Am adding it to my list of blogs--hope that's okay?

Yours very spookily,
Sparkle

Thanks for the heads up, Max. I had no idea he had died either. You'd think the deaths of important icons such as Charles B. Griffith would be front page news. At least in my world it would be.

I love the picture two. They have one of those installed in the park my kids play in.
