Halloween masks of long ago
Here are some masks from the first seven decades of the twentieth century. Most are commercial items; three are promotional items. All were put out in late September/early October of their respective year of release.

Nothing says Halloween like a creature stepping out on the town, Broadway Style!
The costumes got me thinking about the Chuck Barris costume I picked up a couple years ago from a local thrift store still in the original box and apparently never worn... go figure.
I particularly love the Chandu and Wolfman masks, and lol when I scrolled down to the bib for the creature. Imagine the disappointed, bewildered look of the kid who picked that costume as they unfolded it from within the box.

Tres nifty!
Man, now I really want that scuba helmet mask.
Oh, that passel of '70s masks brings back memories.
The Wolfman is beautiful, but the Lucille Ball mask scares the crap out of me. Yikes.
Shawn and Splotchy--
If Frankenstein's Monster can put on the Ritz, can't The Hideous Sun Demon?
Retro--
I thought the scuba helmet mask was meant to be a space helmet!
Dane-- Glad to help!
Pierre-- Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
