John, I was so amazed to see that headstone! That's why I don't mention WHICH cemetery it's in. (Also my friend Frankie might not like it.)
The "tree trunk monument" signified that the deceased was a member of a fraternal benefit society called "Woodmen of the World." It is now a "financial services organization" (think insurance), but members also do volunteer disaster relief.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Max.
Those are great, Max. I'm surpride no one's tried to steal the Frankenstein headstone, even though it must way about a ton.
I never got why anyone would want a stone replica of a tree trunk with all the limbs cut off for a monument.
Thank YOU for commenting, Allen!

They were founded by a man named Root!
Oh, the Frankenstein one is a nice catch. :) Come to think of it, I think I know where to find one, too...
Thank you, Dane! I like ALL EYES & EARS, and am glad you stopped by.
I'll keep an eye peeled for YOUR coming Frankenstein picture!
The Frankenstein headstone is great. Now find one that says "Nosferatu" and you've really got something!
Wow, nice find!
